The original steamboat „African Queen“ was built 1910. It was worldwide famous as the main role in the film of the same name beside the actors Katharine Hepburn and Humphrey Bogart. In this film the steam working boat torpedoes on the Lake Victoria the German warship "Königin Luise" in the course of World War I. Like the original boat, this finished model has a wooden hull and runs with a steam engine. |
